It has come to our attention that unauthorized posters have been distributed advertising our Sunday Dinner as a public “All You Can Eat Halibut” event. This information is incorrect.
Our Sunday Dinner is a complimentary meal provided by the owners as a thank you to our registered Winter Harbour Marina & RV guests. We also welcome members of the local community who are using our marina services.
The dinner is not open to the general public.
If you have seen one of these posters, please disregard it.

Fishing from Winter Harbour is as good as it gets on the West Coast !!!
Chinook salmon average 20-30 pounds with many over 40 pounds. Catching your daily limit is usual. Awesome Coho runs in the later season. Halibut, Ling Cod and other bottom fish are plentiful.
Campgrounds are mostly waterfront and just steps from your boat. Accommodations are available ranging from a cozy SEA CAN to a 3 bdrm fully furnished apartment with the best views (deck) in all of Winter Harbour.

Winter Harbour is located on the North West corner of Vancouver Island. South of Cape Scott and North of Brooks Peninsula at the mouth of Quatsino Sound.

Drive in... From Port Hardy 75km on well marked and maintained gravel road - Average travel time is 1 1/2 hours - allow 2 hours if you are pulling a boat or travel trailer. You will pass thru the town of Holberg ( 50km from Port Hardy) which has a small store, gas station and restaurant. From Holberg it is a narrow road and 25km to Winter Harbour.
Boat in... From Coal Harbour is a 20 minute drive from Port Hardy on paved road. Coal Harbour has an excellent concrete launch ramp (larger boats may want to be careful of tides) and SECURE TRUCK AND TRAILER STORAGE. Winter Harbour is a 45 - 60 minute boat ride from Coal Harbour.
Winter Harbour is:
- 75 km from Port Hardy (1 1/2 - 2 hour drive)
- 25 km past Holberg
- Coal Harbour - (45 - 60 minute boat ride)
- Port Alice - (60-90 minute boat ride)
